The California Fire Protection Training Alliance (CFTA) is proud to serve California's fire protection community as a central hub of education, skill training, communication and legislative advocacy on matters of vital concern to public safety and fire prevention. Our organization is committed to bringing all participants in the fire protection community together in an ongoing dialogue which focuses on the promotion and development of industry-wide training resources and programs which benefit the public, save lives and protect commercial, public and residential properties from the devastation caused by fire loss.
Our goal is not to replace, usurp or compete with any other fire protection industry related organization or association which trains, develops training programs, or which distributes, markets, installs fire protections systems, or which brings fire protection professionals together for specific training or workshops in the technical aspects of system installation or fire suppression techniques. Our goal is to support and facilitate all California fire protection entities in carrying out their respective missions by keeping them informed and connected to each other through constant communication regarding technical updates, state legislative developments, code changes, and statistical developments which have an impact on public fire safety and the fire protection industry at large.
Through the Alliance we can enhance each participating groups or individual member's strength as part of a recognized state-wide constituency, with a governmental affairs arm and professional advocate and lobbyist who consults and participates with the Alliance's Legislative and Govermental Affairs Committee; with representatives appointed or elected by each participating member group or association in the Alliance. When a member organization has developed a specific legislative initiative or bill, it can be worked through the Alliance´s legislative committee for a better chance of weathering the political challenges that typically present themselves. There is strength in numbers and, as long as the legislative purpose is to promote training and education in the fire protection industry, the Alliance can and will stand-up to see these initiatives succeed.
Our mission to provide California's fire protection community a cooperative conduit of information, education and professional communication on all matters of public safety related to fire protection, public fire safety awareness and to support each other in the areas of legislative advocacy for the advance of the core values and goals of the Alliance and its respective members on behalf of the general public good.
